We are on the top, 4th level, of a building without elevator; our guests must be able to handle the 3 flights of stairs. The reward is tranquility, cooling breezes and good views.
Health issues: As a professional medical nurse, Tom is careful about such things as clean water, safe food, and insect control... although this area does not have endemic malaria or much problem with mosquitos, our goal is 'zero bites' -- so we use mosquito nets on our beds, and provide them also for guests... they are easily removed if unwanted.
Regarding your expectations: We provide safe, clean, basic lodging at bargain rates (not a luxury 'B&B') -- our focus is friendly service. We carefully respect your personal choices, whether you wish total privacy, or to socialize with us. As an urban DR location, there is traffic noise and much activity during the day; but from 10pm to 6am, it's usually quiet.
We have a strict policy of 'no-unpaid-guests' and 'no-recreational-drug-use' at the house, which includes no alcohol or tobacco.
We ask you to please only make reservations if you really intend to come --
otherwise
it creates a major hardship for us.
Payment for the first night is required in cash upon arrival; currently the only form of reservation pre-payment we can handle is PayPal .
